Touring Warren County, PA - Small Town, Large Value
Warren County history is intimately linked to the Indian tribes and the early American settlers pushed westward. The Chautauqua-in-Ohio rivers were considered of strategic importance to the Indians as the French, British and Americans. The Seneca, now near Salamanca NY, were the first settlers along the Allegheny River and its tributaries. Chief Cornplanter fought alongside the British during the War of Independence, and processed then negotiated with PresidentWashington. Conewango, means "walking slowly", and refers usually calm waters of the river which connects Chautauqua Lake, near New York with the Allegheny River.
Warren was named for heroes of the Revolutionary War, General Joseph Warren. He died at Bunker Hill, and had no real connection to Warren County. Fourteen counties, five vessels have been strong named in his honor.
General William Irvine, also a war hero, interviewed Warren in 1795. The General has received a grant of land alongBrokenstraw Creek. His eldest son, lived there for a short period of time. His nephew, Dr. William Irvine, settled there. William breakfast last survivor died in 1963.

The Liberty Street Cafe is a cozy corner in downtown Warren for a pleasant libation. This world-class coffee shop offers the best sushi, seafood and Fine Arts Kitchen. Sometimes they have live jazz on Thursday or Friday evening.

Another great restaurant Casa Project Pennsylvania Ave E. This bar-cum-restaurant is mouth-watering meat-on-Wick, Reuben sandwiches, crisp salads, a varied menu and dinner specials every night. It's great for lunch (except weekends) or dinner.
For the evening, check the schedule Struther Library Theater. If something happens - GO! Everything is game - shows, games, movies- It is always good. Take time to explore the building, about 1883. The Warren Struthers houses the Players Club, one of the oldest continuously operating companies in the amateur theater in the nation. The troupe has performed for over seven years.
Day 2: Head west on Highway 6 / 62 to visit the Amish Outlet craft items and homemade food. Area Visitor's Center is another mile and a half on the left. Stop in for brochures and information on what happens in "KinzuaCountry.
Wilder Tower Museum, just off Highway 62 in Irvine. Exhibit includes objects from India, "Women in World War II, and weapons collection DeFrees. The museum frequently hosts special programs and shows learning.
For nature lovers, outdoor obtain Buckaloons Recreation Area. A plaque mile interpretive trail is an easy walk and peaceable. The trail winds along Irvine Run and Allegheny River. E 'particularly beautiful in autumn.
Stop for lunch at Richard'sYoungsville restaurant on Route 6 for sandwiches, homemade soups and home-appetizer style. While in Youngsville, stop in the new gallery, Allegheny Artistry on Main Street.
Afternoon activities could include a tour of Underground Railroad sites, riding on a ranch in the region, or a trip "river down 'to Tidioute. Just north of Tidioute is the simplest Times Museum. Dedicated to the largest industries in the area, is equipped with vintage tractors and engines, as well as agriculture andlogging appears.
For dinner, stop at one of the local restaurants. If you go back to Warren, dine in Fernwood. Do not be fooled outside. The chef is excellent and the servers are fast and friendly. Specialties include steaks and seafood It is a local favorite.
Tonight, when the Library Theater is "dark", go to soldiers and sailors Park for "Music in the Park. Live music Friday and Saturday night games all summer.

During the summer, a snack at Docksiders Café, adjacent to the marina at Wolf Run. Casual dining on the terrace or inside (they say "easy on the ice."). The view of the reservoir and the hills and relaxing. Sunday afternoon, live entertainment from 3:00.

Allegheny Cellars Winery is open until 6 per day for tasting, tourism and shopping. It is a more recent attraction Warren County.
